Phase Two of the redesign at the Business Education Center on the CVTC’s Clairemont Campus involved transforming the old library into a much-needed Student Commons. The school’s food service was also transformed from an assembly line set-up in the basement to a fun, updated food court in a more accessible, visible, and desirable location.

The remodel also allowed the opportunity to reevaluate the original building’s exterior skin and canopy (dark, recessed entry) and redefine the facility’s overall identity. The new commons has an abundance of natural light and offers students a variety of study and lounge environments for interaction, as well as serving as an additional venue for large-group presentations.
