Augusta Area Home
This project started as a study to compare the cost and feasibility of a new 50 bed SNF (Skilled Nursing Facility) as compared to expanding and remodeling the existing Augusta Area Home to encompass 50 private resident rooms. With the study complete, it was easy to see that a new facility was the best choice for the Augusta Area Home. River Valley Architects was once again asked to provide our expertise in skilled nursing home design for a new 50 bed facility. The proposed SNF incorporated neighborhood concepts along with proper administrative areas and a large community room which can be used for a variety of gathering events. Design services went above and beyond the normal with added work including site selection studies, real estate negotiations, DOT highway access study and permitting along with vehicle research. Additionally, the client asked River Valley Architects to assist in acquiring an actual car to be used for rehab in the new physical therapy gym.
