Nicolet Area Technical College – Northwoods

Rhinelander, WI

Increased demand for classroom space on campus was met through a 9,000-square-foot addition and a 15,000-square-foot remodel. The existing building, constructed in 1967, was updated to include new electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Telecommunications and AV systems were also added throughout the building. An elevator was added and new toilet rooms were constructed to provide ADA access throughout the building. New windows, doors, siding, and roofing were completed to provide an improved building envelope. Sustainable strategies were used during design and construction, and were awarded LEED Silver NC Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

The two-story addition includes classroom and office spaces on both levels. Reconfigured spaces within the building provide lounge space for students and staff. The project also included a complete remodeling of the kitchen and dining area which is used for culinary arts instruction as well as dining service for particular campus functions.
