Menomonie High School
Athletic Fields
Menomonie, WI
Though Menomonie High School Athletics continues to be a powerhouse in several sports, their on-site outdoor athletic facilities lack the desired prominence and are in some ways sub-standard. Due to a steep elevation change between the high school/parking lot and the current football field, the venue can only be used for practice. The school’s only running track circles around this field and is made of cinder so it cannot be used for official track meets. This forces the school to host all “home” competitions at UW-Stout’s facilities, which are approximately one mile down the road.
Because of this, a group of community and faculty members have begun fundraising efforts in an attempt to bring their competitions back home. River Valley Architects was brought on by the Civil Engineering firm leading the effort to create 3D graphics and animations to aid their efforts.
The new facility would include a turf football and soccer field, a nine-lane rubber track, a home bleacher section including 2,500 seats, a visitor bleacher section including 750 seats, a press box, a ticket booth, lighting, restrooms, and concessions, as well as additional baseball and softball fields and tennis courts.
