CVTC – Transportation Education Center

Eau Claire, WI

River Valley Architects teamed with BWBR Architects of Madison, Wisconsin to design this 120,000-square-foot state-of-the-art Transportation Education Center (TEC) for Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC). The facility will be located at CVTC’s West Campus location in Eau Claire.

The TEC brings together and supports CVTC’s Transportation Education Programs including Auto Mechanics, Auto Collision, MMOPP (Motorcycle, Marine, & Outdoor Power Products), Truck Driver Training, and Diesel Mechanics. These programs are presently spread across five separate facilities and multiple campuses. The new TEC allows all programs together to be together under one roof, which will encourage collaboration among staff and students, create the ability to share equipment and resources and promote more efficient operations.

The facility features a simulation lab supporting various training technologies, a 24-student welding lab, interactive classrooms, a student learning center with flexible breakout spaces, a commons that can be opened up and extended to the adjacent outdoor patio, food service areas, faculty offices, student lounges, a parts store, and dedicated classrooms and shops supporting each transportation program.
